Please join the Asia Society Policy Institute (ASPI), the Asia Programs at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), the Edwin O. Reischauer Center for East Asian Studies, and the U.S.-Korea Institute (USKI) for a morning discussion examining the Trump Administration’s first 100 days and evolving U.S. policy toward the Asia region. Experts in U.S.-Asia security, trade, and economic issues will weigh in on the Administration’s priorities, engagement, and the outlook in Asia.
The event will feature opening keynote remarks by Senator Cory Gardner (R-CO), Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on East Asia, the Pacific, and International Cybersecurity Policy, and luncheon keynote remarks by Representative Joaquin Castro (D-TX), House Intelligence Committee and Foreign Affairs Committee Member, and founding Co-Chair of the U.S.-Japan Congressional Caucus and the recently launched Congressional Caucus on ASEAN.
The panel discussion will include Kent Calder, Director of SAIS Asia Programs, Wendy Cutler, ASPI Vice President, and Richard Fontaine, President of the Center for a New American Security (CNAS); a fourth panelist will be announced shortly. Jacob Schlesinger, Senior Correspondent for The Wall Street Journal, will moderate the discussion.
